Broderie Perse meets Digital Imagery. The flowers and stems are hand appliqued. Embellishments include thread painting and Swarovski Crystal beads. There is no piecing in this quilt! The background fabric was created in Photoshop using a scanned section of the floral fabric and printed with my Epson printer on an EQ printables fabric sheet.

This is a watercolor illustration printed on fabric along with a little thread painting and beading for the center of the flower. The border and binding are hand dyed silk.

Students can "try before they buy" with a 30 day trial version that is available on the Adobe.com website (click here to download), please download and install prior to class. Versions 11 and newer can also be used in class. If you have version 10 or older, download the trial for class.
Note: The free trial download is very large (over 1G, the size of a movie), and could take several hours to download depending on the speed of your internet connection, so be patient :-)
An exercise to learn basic tools is how to work with a photo that results in a file ready to print for a small art quilt. The pansy photo will be provided along with a handout with step-by-step instructions.
