Grandpa's Rose Garden

"Grandpa's Rose Garden",  April 2013

Finished Size: 30.5 x 26 inches

The rose fabric was the Hoffman Challenge fabric from 2012.  My original intent was to enter the contest, but creating the quilt took me way past the July 2012 deadline.

The rose fabric was used to create the pixelated mosaic custom fabric used behind the trellis.  The flowers are hand appliqued, and the stems and trellis were appliqued by machine. 12 wt Aurifil thread was used to add the leaf detail. This is the third quilt in my "Pixelate That!" series.

Grandpa's Rose Garden was accepted into the 2013 Pacific International Quilt Festival Juried and Judged Quilt Competition, "Indie".
