Tumbling Stream 2

Increase your quilting creative potential! Take your design process to a new level by learning the EQ Quilt Design software.   Detailed step-by-step instructions for exercises will be provided. This is a beginning introduction class.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding the role of the sketchbook
  • Learning the EQ workspaces:  Quilt, Block, Image
  • Libraries
  • Creating a quilt project and learning the tools

Hands-on, Laptop required.

Note: No experience with Electric Quilt is required to take this class, but student need to have basic computer skills, such as the ability to load software, use a mouse or trackpad, find and open the software, and find files on their computer.

Advanced class options are available.

The quilt was designed using the storm at sea block in EQ7 with a combination of custom fabric I designed from photo's of my nephews DJ equipment and commercial fabric.

This quilt was made as a high school graduation gift for my niece, Grace, who is Xceptional. Most of the fabrics are Kaffe and the quilt is an original design  created with the help of Electric Quilt.

Ohio Star 
"Sew Many Books, and Sew Little Time", January 2011

Finished Size: 78 x 48 inches

This lap size quilt was designed for my two favorite librarian's, my nephew, Sean, and his wife, Michelle.  Since they live in Ohio, I chose to use the Ohio Star block.  I found book/library fabric and complemented it with Fairy Frost fabrics.  Click on the picture to see a larger view for detail.

This lap size quilt is the first version made using only one block:  storm at sea.  There is a secondary design of what looks like fish to me, can you find them? Click on the picture to see a larger view for detail.

Finished Size: 90 x 107 inches

This quilt was designed for my California King bed. The machine quilting is by Susan McDermott, Lompoc, CA. I chose not to use the outer border on the top because of how I use the quilt on my bed. Click on the picture to see a larger view for detail.

"Sweet 16", November 2008

Finished Size: 42.5 x 54.5 inches

Every fabric in this quilt has hearts. The back is flannel heart fabric. A gift for my neice on her 16th birthday. Click on the picture to see a larger view for detail.
